Blogging - The Art

The fact of the matter is that not all blogs are created equal. Some blogs are very interesting to read and generate tens of thousands of regular readers; other blogs are horribly written and can't seem to get anyone else to look at them. In the vast middle of these two extremes are the majority of blogs. There are some very well-written blogs that just can't seem to get any exposure, and there are some poorly-written blogs that seem to, somehow, get more than their fair share of traffic. Still, most blogs have an average amount of traffic and are written well, if not tremendously well.

How, though, do you take a good blog and make it a great blog? How can you master the art of blogging? There are several pieces to the art of blogging puzzle. They include:

Great Content

In many ways, the art of blogging is like other arts: you have to have something that is stimulating to say. If you write about something that no one cares about, if you write about something that a thousand people have already written about, or if you write poorly you will not attract readers. The art of blogging is, in some ways, the art of creating interesting, unique and well-written content.

Active Marketing

There are dozens of ways that you can market your blog. Some people rely on social bookmarking sites, such as Digg or StumbleUpon, to increase the traffic to their blog. Other people rely on a blog commenting strategy, where they go out day after day to comment on other blogs, hoping folks will navigate back to their blog. Still others rely on an article marketing strategy, writing articles at web sites like Helium, hoping that readers will click on the author's name, and then go to their "about me" page and see the link to their blog. Regardless of the particular marketing strategy or strategies that you employ, active marketing is key to the art of blogging.

Interaction

Finally, a good blog that will keep people coming back generates a sense of communication and interaction. Responding to comments on your blog, for example, is one way to interact with your readers. By interacting with your readers, you send the message that you value their presence at your blog. The art of blogging is, in many ways, the art of making friends online.

How Come Bloggers Steal Content?

As an online writer there is something that just drives me nuts, it's when a Blogger steals my content without quoting the source or steals my articles, re-arranges them and then calls them their own. And unfortunately this happens way too much. How do I know this? Well, I have subscribed to Google Alerts under the various things that I usually write about and my name. What I find is that my articles end up syndicated all over the Internet. Every day I see 2-8 articles that have been taken.

My average article is on 20-30 blogs from what I can see. And appears in about 18 other places such as ezines, industry websites, print media and newsletters on average. Indeed, it provides links and traffic to my websites, which is part of the strategy I guess. And more importantly it helps me distribute information to the World. It's all good, well, until someone steals your work, re-writes it, claims it as their own.

How can I stop them?

Well, interestingly enough, I do not have time to chase down everyone who steals my content and those who steal my content probably know this. So, these content thieves are aware of such and take the risk. This is how they successfully rip off my content, knowing I am a prolific online article writer often posting 20+ articles in a single day. Sometimes more and sometimes less.

I just have one thing to say to the content thieves; Stop sneaking around, and leave in the links to my articles and leave my name on them. This way you will not be considered an evil doer in my mind. If you want good content there is lots of it but stealing is wrong. If you want to re-write it, claim it as yours, then for gosh sakes pay for it and a writer can somewhere will be glad to ghost write for you, there are people that do that too.

Through time, the original use of blogs has expanded. Now it can be used in virtually any kind of self-expression. Blogs now can also help build your online business.

Blogs are ruthlessly taken advantage of, too. There are businesspersons unscrupulous enough and resort to publishing spam blogs or "splogs".

If you are anxious to enter all internet avenues that will guarantee recognition of your products, then the blogosphere may give you good opportunities. Still it may do the reverse for your products and services, too and create problems for you.

You will not be able to control potential customers or clients to post comments to your original posts and they might expose certain issues you would best prefer to do away with.

If you fail to address the issues to the satisfaction of those commentors, it may not bode well for your business and your products. Not following up or reacting to comments may also be taken as a negative reaction from you.

The blogosphere now involves millions of internet users, and part of them is your potential market then. If there is negative feeling about your products, your business might suffer the consequences.

To count back history, the very first poker tournament is nothing but a winner-take-all game. It seems logical that whoever won will be the one who will be able to take home all the money. Despite the fact that a huge pot of gold is waiting for someone who is going to win, it never gained favorable support by the people. As poker begins to innovate, it makes sense to have a graduated payout in order for the multiple players to receive incentive to play. Thus, during these days about 10 percent of the total players are expected to receive cash prize.

When the final table of the tournament is reached, the prize money is expectedly still very much heavy, with the bigger portion of it to be distributed among the top three players. The only setback here is that there is a huge amount of instability at the final table of every poker tournament given that the blinds are frequently high compare to the normal stack. In order to deal with this volatility and to prevent thousands of dollar riding over the lick, most players would go into a habit of having a final table deal. Nowadays, such deal is an included part of any absolute online poker tournament tactic.

You don't have to worry about making a deal since it is completely legal and it is not being disallowed by many tournament organizer. However Series of Poker and World Poker Tour would normally forbid deals given the fact that they weaken the enthusiasm of arriving at the final tables which is normally a huge draw for these kinds of tournaments. Nevertheless, if you wish to play this at your smaller buy-in online as well as local casino tournaments then there is no problem at all. If you desire to make a deal, it would be sensible to have the tournament staff drawn in to guarantee fairness.

The most common kind of deal is known as the chip count deal, wherein the prize pool is dispersed depending on the amount that every player has. Usually ten percent of the total prize pool is given to the players to keep on competing, the other are given depending on the chip count bargain. However, this is not the sole arrangement that can be done since all of the players are free to work on the kind of deal that they wish to do. But if they desire to play poker texas holdem online then this is the most suggested agreement.
