Hosting a New Recipe Bridal Shower

Bridal showers are so much fun. The bride to be will be starting a new life with her new partner.

Instead of catering the event, why not ask each guest to make their favorite dish and bring the recipe? If you are not comfortable asking guests to bring dishes, what about asking them to send in their recipes to you, the hostess, and you'll create the recipes in your kitchen?

New brides often do not have a collection of recipes or cookbooks. This is a wonderful way to help the bride to be begin her married life with some tried and true family favorite recipes.

Another idea is to mail out recipe cards with the bridal shower invitations and have everyone bring them the day of the shower. The day of the shower, you can create a mini recipe scrapbook for the bride to be. You can actually pre-make the pages, so that the day of the event, all you need to do is add the recipe cards.

Another twist on this idea is for guests to not only write out the recipe, but to base their gift around the recipe. Purchase the ingredients needed and purchase a mixing bowl, a storage bowl, a casserole dish etc. to go along with the recipe. New brides need to stock their kitchen with spices, seasonings and supplies. Many times I have given gifts of a bowl set stuffed with some spices, some utensils and a few recipes.

One of my favorite recipes is Chinese chicken salad. I've been making it for years. Here is our very simple family recipe:

Salad:
1/2 pound chicken breasts cooked and shredded
4 ounces of won ton skins, cut in strips and deep fried
1 head lettuce, shredded
4 strands green onion, cut lengthwise, very fine
2 tablespoons almond slivers, sauted in butter
Dressing:
2 tablespoons white sesame seeds, toasted
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup salad oil
3 tablespoons vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil

Combine ingredients and shake well. Pour over salad and mix lightly. Serve immediately.

Note- I often take this to pot lucks. I will put each of the ingredients in a separate baggie. I'll put the dressing in an old mayonnaise jar. When it's time to serve, I throw it all together.

Audrey's mom always entertained when she was growing up. Audrey learned to prepare for large groups and has often entertained 15-30 people in her home at a time. You can find more great recipes at http://www.recipe-barn.com

Egypts web design market, as an example for developing internet markets, holds much opportunity for graphic designers and/or web developers who are ready to embrace skills that are beyond their discipline i.e. graphic design or programming alone. My observation of the local Egyptian internet market over the past 5 years has led me to believe that in order to meet Egyptian businesses website needs, a web design firm or freelance web designer should combine three critical disciplines, namely graphic design, web developing and business-marketing.

Previously, up to 2 years ago, Egypts internet market was dominated by pure web programmers, masters of code, but who retained knowledge of graphic design and even less of business and marketing communication skills. The result was a plethora of websites, that visually look quite nave, no matter how quick they loaded or how tight their code was. Egyptian businesses approved because there were little other options

This led up to the arrival of a young generation of graphic designers who expanded their graphic skills to enter the internet market. Finally, websites had visual appeal, sometimes backed by audio, with the elements harmoniously laid out. A feast for the eye, but again, the code was not search engine friendly (i.e. potential customers could not find the site using key words or phrases), and the business communication remained lacking as web site structure, text and images were left to the clients to come up with. The result is great looking sites that would entertain but not sell.

So unless your web site is a showcase for art and images, what the market severely misses is not just a good copywriter or journalist, but a designer who approaches the site from a business point of view. Who is the target customer, to what extend is he willing to wait for a fancy website to load, what is the professional write up of all the text, what images would the customer emotionally connect with. These are just some elements that business-marketers would address.

Making Money With Online Surveys

Getting paid for online surveys isn't a myth. In fact, it's far from it! Nowadays, there are hundreds, if not thousands of companies who are looking to pay people for their opinions. Why are they doing this? The answer is simple: They feel that by offering compensation of some sort, they will get a bigger and more accurate response from the participants willing to take their surveys. That doesn't sound like a bad deal, does it?

So what exactly are survey companies looking for? The question here really is what are they not looking for! Survey companies need people from all walks of life to find out their opinions on anything from products, services, T.V. shows, movies, life, buying patterns and more. These surveys help the business/company find out all sorts of things about their market, as well as helping pinpoint the consumers needs and behavior patterns. Surveys actually influence many business decisions.

Many survey companies out there have you fill out profiles. This is to help them in selecting you for certain surveys. Why do they select certain people for certain surveys? Well, if you had a dog and a survey about dog food needed people to participate, you would be a great fit for that survey. If you don't have a dog and took that survey, the response would be inaccurate. The survey companies are looking for accurate and truthful responses, not false ones, which is why you fill out the profiles.

While the subject of making big money with online surveys is spread out all over internet, the truth is, you will most likely not be able to earn a modest living filling out surveys. You could pull in a great deal of income by referring other people, but this more or less falls into affiliate marketing and is another subject in itself. While you may not get rich, participating in online surveys can bring in a realistic $100-$200 per month of extra income. You'll need to join quite a few companies to bring in that much, but it's an easy $100-$200 to earn.

Check out my reviews of the Top 4 Survey Sites at Paid Survey Reviews There, you will be able to learn all about what paid survey sites are the best, what sites to stay away from, and how you can start earning $300+ each month from paid surveys!
